Welcome to the IMC/Audio Dharma worldwide sangha
Dear Dharma Friends,
In response to requests, I am happy to offer these weekly mini-talks to provide you with some short and simple instructions for meditation. The instructions will be sequential. I encourage you to meditate each day so you can get the most from these talks.
The talks are available on Audio Dharma

Dear Dharma Friends,
Here is the chance for you to ask me questions about your practice, and any other Dharma related questions you may have. Obviously, I cannot answer each question. Each month, the IMC Online Community moderator submits a few of your questions to me, and I record my answers for the benefit of the whole IMC Online Community.
You can listen to this month's Questions and Answers on AudioDharma.
If you would like to ask me a question, please send the question to Marguerite Manteau-Rao.
With metta,
Gil

This is the title of Antonio Damasio's new book. I guess I should read it if I want to criticize it. But can I just criticize on the basis of hearing the author talk on TechNation? And reading the Amazon blurb?
"Antonio Damasio has spent the past thirty years studying and writing about how the brain operates, and his work has garnered acclaim for its singular melding of the scientific and the humanistic. In Self Comes to Mind, he goes against the long-standing idea that…

Greetings fellow internet Sangha members. This is my first post so I'm sot sure I'm doing it right or what the result will be. It's a virtual adventure!
I live in Southwest Florida and wondering if there are others in the area. I saw on one area there were members in Sarasota but their last post was in April.
OK, I'm going to click the "publish post" thingy now and see what happens....

I have been deep in thought today about a subject that was a real thorn in my side in the past. That is being able to be comfortable when the future is full of unknowns. I used to feel the only way I could navigate my deep emotions was to cling to a belief I had to control things in my life to be happy.
While on a spiritual path that began 20 years ago, I have come to learn that walking around thinking I have control over most things is just an allusion. That has proven to be true in…
